Chemical Peels and Enzyme Peels

Skin Envy has chosen to carry a variety of Glymed Plus Peels, PCASkin Peels, and Serene Peels.  By having a a number of different peels to choose from, Laura can customize each treatment using these unique formulas to ensure safety for all skin types.  These chemical and enzyme peels address many skin concerns such as aging, discolouration, and acne. During your initial consultation Laura will put together a plan for a series of chemical peels to address your skin concerns.  These treatments are a great option to brighten your skin,  clear up break-outs, and improve skin quality.  

-Discontinue the use of retinols 48 hrs before your chemical peel.  

-Do not exfoliate for the week prior to your appointment.

-Refrain from tanning in tanning beds or outdoors for 2 weeks before your treatment. 

After receiving a mild to medium strength chemical peel treatment, you should not necessarily expect to 'peel'. However, light flaking in a few localized areas for several days is typical. Most patients who undergo these treatments have residual redness for approximately one to twelve hours post-procedure.  The amount of peeling or lack of peeling is not representative of the efficacy of the treatment.  Some of the peeling happens at the micro cellular level that is not visible to the naked eye.
